Gulf Coast PCA Leadership

Church Name is blessed to have a leadership team that is truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.

Rev Robert Dekker

Teaching Elder

Rev. Robert Dekker was installed as Pastor and Teaching Elder of Gulf Coast Presbyterian Church (PCA) on October 19, 2025.

He earned a B.A. in Pastoral Studies/Counseling and Political Science from Liberty University (1984–1988) and a Master of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS) Jackson (1990–1992). Rev. Dekker previously served as pastor of Concord Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Gulf Breeze, Florida (2000–2010), and most recently ministered at New Covenant Presbyterian Church in Lewes, Delaware, before accepting the call to Gulf Coast Presbyterian.

Rev. Dekker and his wife, Tracy, have four adult children and two grandchildren.

Matt Mogan

Ruling Elder

Matt was ordained and installed to serve as a ruling elder at Gulf Coast Presbyterian Church, May 11, 2023. 

Matt is a broker associate at Re/Max Gulf Shores and the owner of several laundromats in Foley.  He and his wife, Belinda, live in Gulf Shores.   Attributes that best describe Matt are thoughtful, humble, and helpful.  He loves the Lord and has a burning desire to serve through a church like Gulf Coast PCA where biblical views are embraced and encouraged and members want to connect others to the body of Christ. 

He graduated from Auburn University in Montgomery, where he received a B.S. degree in criminal justice/safety studies.

Matt and Belinda have two adult children:  Jacob and Jenna.

Bart McLain

Deacon

Bart McLain was installed as a deacon at Gulf Coast Presbyterian Church May 11, 2023.

Bart is retired from the trucking company he owned and operated for many years.  He and his wife, Carla, live in Foley. Qualities that best describe Bart are kindness, sincerity, and graciousness.  Bart has a true servant's heart and demonstrates that in the tangible ways he assists and ministers to others in need.  

He loves God and has a heart for seeing children come to know Christ and grow with Him as their Savior.  He takes his role as deacon seriously at Gulf Coast PCA where there is a deep commitment to intercessory prayer and unselfish service to others.

Bart and Carla have two adult children--Joshua (Hollan) and Jonathan--and 3 grandchildren.

Roger Strick

Music Director

Roger Strick was named as director of music for Gulf Coast Presbyterian Church in October 2024.  

Roger first came from Birmingham to Gulf Shores as Young Life Director, where he served the youth of our communities for many years.  Today he works as a professional musician who composes, arranges, and performs primarily along the Gulf Coast. Additionally, he has used his skills as a sound technician and musician to assist local churches in their music ministries.  He is also ordained and has performed many marriages over the years.  

Roger believes that thoughtfully selecting theologically sound music for the church service can encourage participation, open hearts, and facilitate worship.

Roger and his wife, Diane, live in Gulf Shores and have two adult children--Lauren (Chance) Espinoza and Roger Jr--and one grandchild.
