Just as the serpent was lifted up in the wilderness so that those who looked in faith would live, Jesus was lifted up on the cross to become the curse for us, taking our sin and offering eternal life to all who believe. The sermon clearly presents the gospel—our sin, God’s justice, and His gracious remedy in Christ—and calls us to look to Him in faith as our only hope.
